The sweet taste of strawberries comes at a very unethical cost. This popular fruit is grown with a tremendous amount of harmful pesticides. Additionally, many of the people who harvest strawberries are paid very little. In my video, I take the capitalistic piggy bank (painted clay wrapped around a hand shaped armature) and break the system to redistribute profit. Many systems are broken and in need of repair in America. I chose the strawberry industry to represent the general trends of injustice because I wanted to show how companies often hide behind the comfort or “sweetness” of their product.
